“I’m looking for my dad. He works for you.”
That earns me a small smile, his lids low. “He does more than work for me. Does he tell you about his day when he calls me? About threatening people for money? About following through?”

I have been DYING for this book and let me tell you, it did not disappoint! The Queen is the conclusion of Penny and Damon’s story. These characters sparked some kind of curiosity/love in me that makes me love them and want to know everything about them. I think that their brokenness makes them special. Two broken halves equal a whole in their case.
Now, I could have strangled Damon most of the book for denying his feelings and pushing Penny away but the resolution was so worth it!!! The twists were incredible and left my jaw hanging open and my brain working overtime to try and figure out what was going to happen next. Skye Warren has a gift for creating characters in a way that makes the reader fully invest themselves in the outcome of their story. She is a master storyteller and I enjoy every single book that she writes.
Please read The King before The Queen, as the story won’t make much sense otherwise. I am sad to see these characters go but I am looking forward to what Ms. Warren has for us next!
